How to Apply

  • How to Apply: To get the opportunity, aspirants must be admitted to any university in Japan. After that, aspirants must fill the funding form.
  • Supporting Documents: You must submit the following documents when you apply:
  • Field of Study and Research Plan
  • Academic transcript for all academic years of university attended
  • Certification of graduation or degree certificate of the university attended
  • Recommendation letter from the president/dean or the academic advisor at the current or last university attended
  • Medical certificate
  • Abstracts of theses
  • Certificate of language proficiency
  • Recommendation letter from the present employer
  • Photograph
  • Admission Requirement: Students need to have completed formal master’s education in their home country. 
  • Language Requirement: Students must have the following:
  • You will need at least N2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) to keep up with lectures taught entirely in Japanese.
  • For prestigious universities (Waseda, Keio, Tokyo), you may be required to have the top-level of N1.

About Embassy of Japan in the Solomon Islands

As the applicants are processing their application you may want to know or get more information about the organization that offers the scholarship. below is some detail of the host organization.

An amount of JP¥300 million or SBD 23 million was provided to support the Solomon Islands government to improve and better equipped the health services throughout the country.

The Japanese government through this assistance will provide vital medical equipment

such as X-ray machines, ultrasound scans, ambulance, and electrocardiograms which will be distributed to all the 9 provinces including Honiara.

Many of these items are essential to support the government’s nationwide efforts to contain, prevent and stop COVID-19 from entering the Solomon Islands.
